The viral image that emerged from the East Coast Low of June 4/5 is that of a sea side swimming pool that washed into the ocean in the Sydney Suburb of Collaroy. The storm apparently gobbled up 50 metres of Collaroy beach. This particular strip of houses fared worst. According to media reports, which I’ve not independently verified, the pool was built to withstand a once in 100-year storm.
I’m interested in building codes. What information goes into an engineering project like that?
