Cars II (Sydney Flash Floods)

Years ago I wrote a blog post about cars – https://bicycleuser.wordpress.com/2011/04/07/cars/ – in particular I assessed a video from Toowoomba that captured the flood waters’ impact on a row of parked cars. At the time the video “struck me as a telescoping of all media representation of disasters; ‘Nature’s’ fury doesn’t make sense to us unless pictured in relation with what ‘she’s’ furious with, in this case it’s the cars.” OK, so I am not sure if I totally agree with my former assertion, but it is an interesting thought. Now, fast forward to yesterday and there were flash floods in Sydney and the cars were at the centre of the action again … http://www.smh.com.au/environment/weather/significant-delays-for-motorists-as-flooding-crashes-clog-sydney-roads-20160103-glyhg6.html
